This is a PSA for all developers.
The developer mindset and culture now and last year have completely changed and that's because of the expansive and rapid-fire release of powerful AI tools: tools that are able to do what software developers can do faster and better.
This isn’t meant to scare you.
Several months ago when AI started replacing jobs many thought software devs would be untouched by this.
I was wrong.
We will be affected by AI.
Thousands of jobs WILL be displaced if they aren’t already.
So, what you need to do at this point is get ready for this shift.
The devs that will use AI to benefit them will replace the devs that won’t.
It’s as simple as that.
Make AI your friend, not your enemy.
Use these tools.
If the tools are faster and better don’t fight them, use them to help you.
When used properly the work I can accomplish in 1 coding session is what developers who don’t use AI tools accomplish in 10.
Instead of working solo as a single developer, I can now operate like a TEAM of devs.
This is applicable to any part of the software engineering project from brainstorming to launch.
So, do research, and do the homework.
Constantly learning and looking for new tools to give you an edge and make your jobs easier.
You can’t be replaced when you can combine AI and human intuition and experience.
This will make you a more sought-after developer, not a replaceable one.
